The only thing that doesn't look quite right is the missing AC symbol. This is usually in the center block on the electronics side that states "this side toward air cleaner."

Otherwise it looks like a stock OEM GM MAF. The hot stamp information is as follows:

00203 Built on 203rd day of 2000
8988 Last 4 digits of part number
2 Flow stand number

With the date code it very well could be from a 2001 MY vehicle. As far as the part number stamp, I haven't been able to match any of the ones here up with any known part numbers. So not sure what to think of that.

looks ok to me, I have a GM one here that doesn't have the AC symbol.

The hot stamp number looks correct.

I thought all GM factory ones all had AC on them ? , Are you sure your is a Genuine GM? I went throught the same problem with 3 bars same numbers but not GM .

I just looked at the one I used to run on my 86.

Hot stamp # says....99130 8988 2

has the AC stamp

Not sure if the bar code is of any relavence, but mine is:
89872456450

vacuum 6. Did you measure it? Should be 3 9/16 OD on either end.

I measured the ID @ 3.5, I"ll verify it tonight.

its the same 1 I have took it off a 96 impala SS but its LT1:confused:

The LS1s used the same MAF as the late LT1s. Then sometime along the line the part number changed but it is the same MAF. Which probably explains why the hot stamp last 4 digits of the part number don't match up with any of the known part numbers.
