Low fuel light always on

Hi all. Let me start from the beginning. My car had quit charging,what does this have to do with a fuel light you may ask? Plenty I would suppose. The dash cluster wasn't making a good connection. I took it apart fixed the problem and created a new one any thoughts? Gas guage works but not perfect. I left out the tach /boost guage cause it needs to be fixed.

According to the shop manual, the low fuel light is operated by the fuel gauge in the dash. You may have a defective fuel gauge. You must have a Riv or PA - teh TR didn't have that option as far as I've been able to determine.

could also be a burnt spot on the little pcb.
