I usually loose power for anywhere from 7-10 days everyfreaking time ... it really is hell ... I have a generator off course but that shit gets old real quick... my neighborhood is a well and septic community and ... that means no water or toilets too... I got rid of my well long ago but its like a nightmare camping trip ..and its usually hot as hell... funny story back during Matthew I ordered a bigger generator that would handle my ac... and it showed up the day I got power back on :LOL: :LOL: ... and the Mrs. gets angry as hell LOL..but it is a good time to clean out the fridge and clean it:p

Did you have a lot of neighbors ask to plug into your generator? Just one of the little 2000w Honda (runs a long time on a gallon of gas) ones would run a window a/c, refrigerator and well pump depending on draw. Piggyback another and run the 220v pumps. Funny how sheeple will spend $60k on a new p/u, $1,000 on a 1 week vacation but not a couple grand for emergency power. Shoot, all someone has to do in FL is stub their toe on the ground and water comes up, couple of pails will flush the crapper.
Lost power for 15 days during the 91 ice storm the first week of March, wasn't bad the first few days but grows old fast.
 
Welp I just got hit in the wallet. Leaving work today an electrician coworker of mine overheard a conversation between 2 painters, one said she was just informed that she was on a job site last weak with someone who tested positive. So because she was there last week, and I was working in the same building as her this week, I had to inform the overtime crew I was going to be working with tomorrow on another site of the situation and they preferred if I didn't come in.
 
I'm on day #7 of quarantine already.

Bored out of my mind & cooking/eating. Probably gain 20 lbs. before its over.
 
Just went to the supermarket today for the first time since this shit started...and I've never realized how truly helpless people were until today. Everything I saw in the videos and pics that have been circulating around online, I saw in the bare shelves at the supermarket. The cashier said it's been like that for the past 1 1/2 weeks...$400-$500 per person. I got my $38 worth of stuff and left feeling more hopelessness for humanity than I've ever felt before. Such a sobering, yet depressing feeling.

Also, the dragstrip is closed tomorrow and that pissed me the fuck off since it's the 3rd time I've tried to run a new best in the 86...but there is ALWAYS some problem and it's closed. Dammit!

They say people who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it...and I'm concerned if we don't learn from very recent history in Italy our ER is going to look like this soon enough -

I'd be curious to see what percent of celebs care about people vs the population average. There's plenty of people who don't give a shit about other people out there. And plenty of celebrities who donate a ton to helping people out. And what happened to you man? You used to be a lot more laid back and funny. no my neighbors have one ...my one neighbor is an electrician and lost his shit one day and ripped his whole main panel apart to run his dinky generator through it to run fans and lights in certain rooms...it actually takes more than you'd think to run a fridge...and window units are nice ..but the portable ones are easier to deal with as you can just plug them into any room and they dont draw that much..and as for using buckets of water to flush...thats a challenge sometimes if your a well community ...thats why we fill the bath tub up before the storm hits.... for that... but its always a treat sleeping in a tent in your backyard..bc its cooler outside then in the house ....then going into work to run a chainsaw for two weeks LOL...I had a 220 "welding plug " installed for my system... now I can run just my ac...or wit h no ac most other things in the house..have to pick and choose...and having a dual fuel generator is nice bc we usually run out of gas in extreme situations.. I would hate have to deal with the cold from an ice storm that would be worse IMOP..
