knock sesor

If I am getting false knock readings (I know cause I check my spark plugs periodically and there is no detonation at all on them) Will the computer seeing the false kncock cut my fuel and mess up my performance? Should I unplug the sensor?

The ECM will retard the timing if it receives a knock sigal from the knock sensor. Yes this will cut your performance long enough to get the knock to go away.

I would not unplug the sensor if I were you. because if the sensor doesn't tell the ECM to pull timing upon knock, you could damage your engine.

do you have a scanmaster? if you do does it show any knock ?
