Is this old school recipe still good?

Been out of the TR game for a few years. Current car is all stock. Plan is to do Spring Cleaning, hot wire pump, maybe put in a walbro, k&n cone filter, R43 plugs, new wires, 160 stat, adjustable regulator, good chip for 93 and about 16 psi.

That should be good for some low 8's in the 1/8 on some sticky tires shouldn't it?

I know we went 7.70's back in the late 90's with same setup but at 20 psi and a red Armstrong chip.

Any input? TIA

Spring cleaning and new FP is good, but I don't see any go fast parts on your list. Add a scanmaster for tuning and an alky kit and you might hit those low 8's.
