Is it possible to run mid 11’s on pump gas 93 octane and NO alky ?

Realistically speaking, probably not.
Remember, if your restricting yourself to 93 octane and no alky, you've likely limited yourself to no more than 20# of boost, and no more than 18-19° of WOT timing.

Two choices....

1. move that powertrain into a 2,000# car.

2. Build the motor to move a crap load of air at these low boost levels....
$$$ heads, $$$ intake, $$$$ turbo, $$$$ intercooler, big slicks, and an earth ripping launch.

My first T went 11.8x@112-114 on 94 octane and 275/50 BFG drag radials. 100% stock long block aside from valve springs, heads were never off, stock cam shaft.

Combo was TE60, 50s, CAS V2, Art Carr 9", RJC Power Plate, Janis built trans, etc. Boost was 21psi, timing somewhere around 20 (don't remember off hand).

With a good cam, ported heads, mid 11s would be cake.

Second car I only made a few passes with pump gas... went 11.60@116 on 17psi. Basically same combo except for mildy ported heads, a Comp 218, TA61 instead of a TE60 and a PTE FMIC instead of the V2.

Did I click the hot air section and not notice? :p

Sure. I've run a bunch of 12.1-12.3's with a PT67 turbo, V2 frontmount, and stock long block, on 93 octane and 18 or 20 deg timing, and mediocre 1.95-2.05 60's at 110-111 mph. Got two 11.8's on a 50 deg day at Cecil Co. Dragway, known as a fast track. With ported irons and slicks I'd expect 11.7's or so on typical 80-85 deg evenings. Oh, that's on Nitto drag radials and 4060+ lbs going down the track the last time I weighed the car. I'm in the process (I know, I know, I epitomize slow :)) of bolting on some mildly ported TA heads and am expecting 11.5's on 93 octane if I can get traction. To get 11.5's on 93 octane no alky you need an efficient turbo like the GT67 or a 70, a good frontmount, ported heads, lots of injector (at least 65's, more like 72's), a good torque converter, good drag radials or slicks, good exhaust, and a tuneable engine management system and the patience to tune, tune, tune. I make my own chips but if I didn't I'd have either an extender extreme or turbotweak. Basically a setup that should go high 10's on race gas should go mid 11's on 93 octane.

I got to 111mph on a te 44 at around 17lbs of boost and 18-19 degrees timing on 93 octane. Check my old combo in my sig. The key is the heads. I am adding a bigger cam 210/215 roller and a bb turbo(6776) to the mix. I hope to be mid 11's or better on pump.

you need good flowing heads , intercooler , an efficeint turbo (big) and a great launch for low ets

ive run 11.20 with my 86
18psi 93 only
ported heads
212/208 cam
V2 intercooler
good launch (1.50) /drag radials-tbrake
little lighter @ 3450#
low compression
71gtq

before going to alky it was running 10.5s with 3 parts 93 1 part 112 and more boost

i know of others like artie who persued pump gas only slips running 11.4x (hes the other car in the video in my sig with a column shift)
he likes low timing ,

and someone else here ran in the 10s, but would be a mid 9 setup on good stuff

the bigger question is why run 93 only and risk the carnage when 93 and alky makes life so much simpler

At 16psi on a 9.2:1 engine i g-teched my blue the car to multiple 11.50-60's on the street. Never got any track times out of it. If you want to make big power at low boost you need to rev the engine. Rpm=hp. The stock block im throwing together now will run low 10's on 93 octane with no alky. 6500 rpm, 9.3:1, 16-17psi. It will be a lot more fun at 30psi:biggrin:
