Heads - 8445 vs 6593

What is the real difference between the two? They look to be the same in flow characteristics.

My car had 6293 heads on it when i bought it. They seem to work as go as the newer heads.

I just finished porting them, I'll see how it does in a week or so.

I've never heard a good explanation.

I have two sets of 8445's and one set of 6293's.

One (1) of the 6293's has bridged water passages at each end of the head surface, the other one does NOT (WTF?). Again, one (1) of the 6293's has these little pressed in "bungs" in each of the small EGR ports in the bowls. The other 6293 head doesn't.

Those are the only differences I can see.

Anyone else??
