Well that depends, Pump gas? Alky? How much boost? I think Eric ( turbotweak) sets the chip timing around 18 degrees for pump gas. It depends how much boost. Even though the first and second gear has less load, you have to be careful. You can run one or two degrees more than third but I would carefully monitor the scan tool. I normally stick with what Eric sets on the chip.

The chips say right on them how much timing. Like Prasad says, 93 oct chips are usually 20/18. That's 20* in 1st and 2nd and 18* in 3rd.
