Anyone know the part number for it? I need a new one and the part store guys look at me like I am speaking Swahili... It is the one with a lip on the valve cover end, has a 90* bend and is open, .about 3/8" or so for the big ol' tube.

I dont have the part number for it but I remember buying one from the help section of advance auto. There selection is bare most of the time so its a matter of lucking out.

I want to plug the VC and turbo inlet oil. How do I do ? I have already a valve cover breather from Johns Performance at home, but I dont find something to plug the holes with :(

Daniel

GM Part number 25526950. Still available.

Dump the oil tube. The K&N filter to get is the 62-1040 Vent Filter 1" Vent Tube, 2"OD X 1-1/2"H, Rubber Top

This filter fits on top of the rubber elbow, so easy install and no modifications.

I got a second one and the rubber elbow and drilled a hole in a spare passanger side cover as well in the same (mirrored) place as the driver side one. This gives me enough vent on both sides.

You find some pictures of my setup here http://la.rsson.com/valvecovers/

The K&N you can order at any Autozone or similar parts place cheaper than getting the vent kit from any of the GN/TTA vendors.

Daniel,

Not sure about the valvecover hole as I have the breather there so did not have to plug it. The hole at the other end I just had a rubber top (like a plug) fitted to the outside of it held in place by a hose clamp, can take a picture if you like as I'm not using that one (in fact if you can't find one you can have mine), I'm using a billet one wihtout the provision for the vent (see http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...tem=7938930168&category=46098&sspagename=WDVW).

Daniel, think I read somewhere that the rubber plug used on our rear axle covers fit the breather hole in the driver side valve cover. Not sure if this is the case but I can try tomorrow as I have a couple of extra and let you know.

Daniel,

No, on the stock inlet bell (if that is what you mean, fitted to the air inlet for the turbo) the shirt "pipe" sticking out on the side I just have a rubber plug covering that hole on my stock inlet bell but I'm now using the billet aluminium one as per the e-bay link above this way I don't have the oil breather hole and it looks much better than the stock one :)

I can shoot you some pictures tomorrow when I can dig out my stock one in the garage.

Cool Janne.

I would appriciate if you test that, or if someone else can shime in and tell if it fit.

This reminds me that I still not have taken the pics of my DP as I promised you Jan... Sorry

Daniel

First, the rear end cover oil plug do NOT fit the valve cover. The hole in the driver side valve cover (for the vent rubber elbow) is 1".

Also here is a couple of pictures of the OEM turbo inlet bell with the rubber cap plugging the vent hole (where the vent tube goes)

Daniel, if this is what you need (the cap) let me know if you can't find one and I'll send you this rubber cap as I don't need it.

I shall go out in the garage when I get home and look at it... Lunkan gave me a stainless turbo inlet thing, I think it was without the oil inlet pipe... As I said, I dont remember so well at the moment.

Daniel

That is probabrly the aluminium billet one (should look like the e-bay link in my previous post), same as I have, I would expect. If that is the case then just use that one instead, much smoother on the inside and match the inlet of the turbo better as well.

Yes, now is it only the valve cover plug left. Anyone that have examples of plugs ?

I saw your solution Jan, but that feels unessecary to put on, then I have two KN filters on same VC :)

Daniel

A long time since I posted here...

I ordered 62-1040 but got 62-1340... Wtf... will this fit anyway ? It looks the same but dont have a steel "foot" just a rubber foot.

And I wonder if you can use two filters on the same VC, or does the car go rough or something then ?

Daniel

If it's the same diameter it should work fine, try to fit it onto the rubber elbow and you will see.

No harm in running two filters, looks a bit different :)

I have one on each side (each valve cover) but this requires drilling or replacing the passanger side cover.
