Greatest song ever?

Best song written, that's a toughie. Kind of depends on what mood your in and if you had your coffee this morning.

Very likely:

Billy Joel: Piano Man

Honorable mention:

Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody
Billy Joel: Captain Jack
Kansas: Carry On My Wayward Son

All have cool lyrics and are musically well written. Still don't know what a real estate novelist is though.

I happen to like that Styx song.

Then again I saw them play it live in '73.

:p

I also like "Black Sabbath" by Black Sabbath. :)

"Theme from an Imaginary Western" is also good. :D

Born in the Bayou, CCR (Credence Clearwater Revival) all of them songs are Super, they really Boost your Adrenaline, or at this time, those Freaks named ( RAMMSTEIN ) you should see there VIDEOS they really are something else. Nice day. Gilles.

It was a song from the late '60's about what the future would be like. Very obscure tune. Hey, I'm showing my age now!

They also reused it a few years ago on a show called Cleopatra 2525 with a bunch of HOTTIES on it.

Less and less often I'm made to feel like a dumb kid, I actually look forwrd to it now. Thank you for momentarily restoring my sense of youth!:D

"2525" was one of those "One Hit Wonders", Kinda' spooky... kinda' corny.
Okay, seriously "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" by the Tokens; "Lucifer" by Alan Parsons (good driving tune...instrumental). "Sleepwalk", "Green Onion", (I like the instrumental oldies:cool: )
If you really want to irritate the ricers w/ their "too much bass that parts fall off their POS and you can actually watch the metal fatigue before your eyes" try blasting 'em w/ some classical! "Also Spracht Zarathustra" (aka "2001 a Space Odyssey" theme), "The Blue Danube", Handel's "Messiah", "Ode to Joy" (y'know from "Die Hard"!?!)
Hmmm... I think my meds are wearing off

Okay, okay..."In the Year 2525"

Zager and Evans

"In The Year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus)"

Reached #1 07-12-69 on the Billboard Charts

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find........

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do, or say
Is in the pill you took today

In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs got nothing to do
Some machine, doing that for you

In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube

In the year 7510
If God's a comin' he ought to make it by then
Maybe he'll look around himself and say
``Guess it's time for the Judgement day''

In the year 8510
God's gonna shake his mighty head
He'll either say ``I'm pleased where man has been''
Or tear it down and start again

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering if man's gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing...

Now it's been 10,000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now man's reign is through
But through the eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it's only yesterday...

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find.......

Too many for just one: Beatles-A day in the Life, In my Life Van Halen-Mean Street, Hot for Teacher Doors-The End, Not to touch the Earth Rolling Stones-Sympathy for the Devil, Waiting on a Friend Beach Boys-Good Vibrations, Wouldn't it be Nice.

I'm not much of a classis rock type, kinda before my time.

Favorite song while driving...

BT - Never Gonna Come Back Down

But be careful...it makes you speed a LOT
