2yrs of frustration. I don't even care if he pays me or not.
It's out of my driveway and being driven down the road.

I also solved a plaguing delima on my boy's car.
It had a bad coil pack. Now it's running like a champ.
He even started paying be back for it!
 :D

TGIF

So guess what...now I have to replace the drive axles on the van (Montana).
Anyone want to take a wild guess at what the stealership wants for them new?
Better be sitting down.

Heh-heh. Yes it's payday for me. All for me..none for you.All for me..none for you.All for me..none for you!

Hey those axles are also used on the W-Body. Impala,MC,Regal,Grand Prix. Heck you might be able to find some low mileage used parts at the full service yards for a fraction of the cost of new. Are you sure it's the axles and not the hubs and bearings? I sell lots of hubs. The only time I sell an axle is when they get bent in an accident.

Hey Eric,

Yea, it's the axles.
They're the only thing on the front end that I haven't replaced.
Struts, bearings, GM LCA assemblies, spring rubbers, etc, all new.
Don't know why I didn't go ahead and do them when I did the rest.
They're creaking, clunking, crunching, call it what you want.
For 215k, I can't complain.
They didn't make a sound until a few thousand miles after I replaced everything else.
I just picked up some rebuids at my local CarQuest.
I hope they hold up.
This old van has really been a good machine.
It still get's 27mpg at 70mph, 30 to 32 at 55.

Have a good weekend!
Z

It's FRIDAY!!!

I'll be on vacation next week, so I'll need somebody trustworthy and of good moral character to wake this thread up next week.
