Getting the STAGE 2 TTA Together... few pics...

Car is together and running. Just needs a good detail and its ready for spring. I might be putting it in the upcoming Autorama in Detroit at the end of this month. Kinda last minute, but if I can get a spot I'll probably do it. So if you're there look for it,

My car is in the Detroit Autorama Show this weekend. Here a few pictures from the show. I'm with a club called Team Detroit Racing.

BTW, one of the great things about living in Detroit is you get to meet people who have great stories about these cars.

For example, I met a man who was close friends with Jeff Bietzel, who I understand was the head (owner?) of PAS back in the day when these cars were being converted by PAS to TTA. In fact, when he came by my display I thought the guy was going to cry as he told me stories about working with Jeff on these cars. My understanding is that Jeff passed away and this was why this was kinda hard for this guy seeing my car.

Also met two truck drivers named Doug lowe and paul Harrison – truck drivers who drove TTA to Indianapolis for two weeks in a row. Picked them up at the Pontiac division plant #7 in Livonia, MI. They told me how they would be met by a Indiana State Police escort each day as they got to the Michigan/Indiana border. When they hauled the last cars to Indy, they each recieved a Leather Turbo TA jacket that was their "pit pass" for the Indy 500 all weekend. They told me it got them in where ever they wanted to be all weekend long!

Fun time talking to those guys. BTW, also ran into Billy Briggs who was working at PAS back in the day. He is the guy who built the first prototype engine for the TTA.

Looks great. Those big rear tires look right at home.

Actually, I switched back to the 255/50-15 tires. IMO, those tires were too big for an 8inch rim. If I widen the rims to 9inch (probably buy an extra set if I can find them) I'll put those back on the car. I just didn't like the way they bulged in the sidewall area on the stock sized rim. The more I looked at that bulge, the less I liked it.

BTW, found out the M&H makes a 275/55-16 that is a bit narrower than the MT 295. Its still a 28inch tall tire like the MT 295, but is about an inch narrower. I "think" those might work on an 8inch rim, but I won't know until I get one mounted up for a look.

Actually there is a thread in the wheel section of a GN with the 16X8 GNX style wheels with the 275/55/16.

Turned out really nice. I like the sleeper look. Does it drive and respond as you expected? Huge tailpipe would be my first guess that "somethings up"

I actually haven't driven the car yet... Well, drove it from my trailer to the spot where it is parked in the picture. Drove just fine at an idle:biggrin:

Dude your car looks killer!

Thanks Jarred!
