Garage Project - Progress

Thought I'd share some significant progress I've made on my garage project.

Here's what I accomplished over the last 3-4 weeks in 95-110 degree (heat index days)....

- Built shelves for the entire car side wall. I'm a fanatic about freeing up floor space. I used to have about 8 plastic shelving units that I did away with.
- Put up a 4'x8' hanging loft over the open side garage door to free up more floor space.
- I already had the overhead tire racks. My Pontiac G8 had 3 full sets of tires/wheels so I needed the racks.
- Floored the whole garage with Big Floors Garage Deck. Black border, checkered sporty pattern my son picked out. Very easy install. Feels good to stand on too rather than concrete.
- Assembled a 6' Gladiator work bench today. This thing is a monster and HD had a special buy on it where I saved over $200.00 with free shipping to my local store. Supports 3,000 pounds! I just need to get a vice for it and I'm all set.

Here are some pics while we were getting ready to put down the floor.

Must keep the GN cool on a 110 degree heat index day :)

And here are some AFTER pix of the floor, the GN back in its place and the new workbench....

And as you can see, I've already filled the space under the bench! No likey.

I think sometime this Fall, I may add a wall AC/Heat Pump unit and start to think about insulating this space. Maybe a TV and a little couch and I'd be all set :)

Lookin' Good!!! I was thinking about the tiles for my next space. Looked to be a little pricey. Did that make THAT much difference (aside from the cool look- which I totally dig)?

BTW, if it were me, I'd call a company that does spray foam and foam the crap out of it! It will make a huge difference and then you can work in the garage year round.

Don't forget a hole in the wall for a hose and funnel. To take a leak

A little pricey versus coating or painting it but Big floors and another I found had pricing that was half of many others I saw. As far as making a difference......a little bit but it depends on each person's tastes. It looks better, feels better to stand on than concrete and should keep the garage cleaner. I guess I just like how it looks. Lol.

Spray foam. Yup, I'll check that out. Thanks.

I did spray foam in my basement. Wasn't too expensive. When they finished it was like an igloo cooler!! It really tightened up all the little leaks.
