HI all. Hopefully someone here can help me. I have an 87 GN with a stage 2 That I bought last year from a friend of a friend. List of parts:
Gn1 Heads ported and polished
PT72 Turbo
83lb injectors
520/520 lift 552 duration roller cam (Full Roller motor)
Carrillo Rods
F.A.S.T. System (old speed pro type)
Precision Front Mount Intercooler
Terry Houston 3" Downpipe
TH400 with transbrake
Ford 9"
Mosier Axles
Sound good right. Well after reading some posts here I'm thinking it should be going a bit faster than it is. Best time ever was 10.34@ 129 mph. It runs consistent 10.5. I see cars with the same or less set-up than mine going into the 9's. Anyone have any idea of what the problem could be? IT was built and tuned by ANS in melrose park Illinois. P.S. It is a street car. Still has Air, full interior, windshield wipers, ect. THanks guys

Honestly I don't know how much boost I'm running. I have the ANS boost controller, but really don't know how to use it (besides turning the knob). This is my first turbo regal. I've owned 7 regals with V6's and small block chevys. I just leave the boost contoller half way up. That's where the guy I bought it from said he kept it when running on the track. Sorry for sounding stupid, but how do I know how much boost I'm running? I'm using 108 octane

First off...do you have a boost gauge? If so just see what it reads at wide open throttle. Then get back with us and we'll see if it's enough. Acording to your combo you should be in the 9s

Yes, I do have a boost gage. MY turbo is being rebuilt at precision right now. When I get it back I will let you know. Thanks for the replies guys. From your posts I assume my problem is boost / tuning. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully this summer I can get a couple 9 second runs in. Thanks again.

No problem I would say that the 72 would like 25-28lbs of boost, race gas, and timing.

When I get the turbo back, anyone have suggestions on who I can take the car to, to have it tuned. How is White Racing? They are the closest Buick specialists that I know of. Thanks

You may want to weigh the car. It could be pushing 3800# w/driver. In addition to the tune up and boost, I would look at the convertor and turbo.
