Engine Wiring Question

Im helping to reinstall engine and transmission into a friends 86 GN. There are 4 leads coming out of the main electrical harness, This is the harness that runs in front of AC box on passenger side and along the back of the engine in the oval shaped convoluted plastic tubing, The 4 leads in question all have ring terminals on them and they are very short. I think they are grounds that get bolted to the back of the passenger (right side) cylinder head as they really dont have length to go anywhere else. Also with them being a ring terminal they would not interconnect to another wire.. Do they just getbolted to the back of the passenger side head. Do they get bolted 2 leads per bolt as the length seems to suggest that. There are 2 that are about 2 inches long and the other 2 are about 4 inches long. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

Yes, what you have discribed are the wiring harness grounds. Two ring terminals per bolt. You can bolt them to the head as you lower the engine into position. Make the bolts tight!!

Or just put them on the rear intake bolt. Give them all a good tug before you set the engine in. If there's one that's about to break, it's waaaaaaaaay easier to fix it now than after the engine is in the way.

As already stated these are grounds that went to the head originaly, and for further info some of the more important stuff like The Maf sensor, ignition module and other items ground through these ring terminals thus making these one of the most important electrical connections on the car. You want to make sure these connections are 100 % good with the paint removed at the connection point, the bolts need to be the proper length so the rings are clamped tightly to the head. Bad connections here have caused many a turbo regal owner some major grief. HTH
