does the stock fan supose to run when the car is first cranked up? i always thought that it came on when when it reaches a set temp. if not could a fan sensor be bad?

That's how it was from the factory. Chip sets the turn on point unless it's hotwired??

well my car is mostly stock, but it does have the old pitbull street chip in it. the fan is not hot wired.

The chip could be programed to do that. If you turn the ingition on and push the pedal to the floor will it cut off?

by that i am assumeing you mean turn it on and not actually cranking it, but turning the key to the on position and pushing the gas pedal to the floor, then the fan itself is not running then. its only on when the car is running.
