It's plain and simple as I see it.. The car was not honestly represented.. period. You guys seem to dismiss this just because he went ahead and bought the truck..
The fact remains the ad was not accurate.. Whether purposely or out of ignorance.
If someone wasn't sure it had rust because they didn't look it over that well, why say "ABSOLUTELY NO RUST"..?
If they weren't sure it had been painted, why even mention "No repaints"?
In today's world it's too commonplace to shift the blame somewhere else. Sure he went ahead and took possession of the vehicle, but the seller needs to buck up and admit the ad was full of inaccuracies.
Maybe it's too hard for some people to admit they're wrong??
Again, the ad was neither accurate or truthful, that is the issue, take some responsibility..
It is the new owner's responsibility to check the car our and be satisfied, but he has no control over seller's description which seems to be the issue here.
Just because the new owner took his word, doesn't mean it was ok to tell him something that wasn't accurate.
Time to put on your big boy pants and own up to a mistake..
