i've gotten two emails now from "ebay" saying I need to update my info. I have every email address go into my junk folder cept for those on my accept list....which Ebay is on. Both emails have made it into my inbox, so i'm assuming its actually from Ebay. The emails said that my account had been restricted because I havent updated yet, but i've been buying and selling things w/o any problems lately. Should I log into the link in the email and do what it says or not? I dont think its anything shaddy, but i've never gotten anything like this before in the 5 years i've been on Ebay.

DO NOT!!! FILL OUT THAT EMAIL!! It's a scam ebay is aware of this and is working on catching the people responsible.

Ebay will never ask for your account info in an email.

Delete the email ASAP.

Forward it to Ebay and see what the response is.

Big time scam, if it is the same one I receive all the time it asks for just about every piece of security item you would never let anyone know. SS#, paypal password, even your driver's license number. Stay away! You will also notice that it is not a secure site either. There are some real scumbags on the internet. Just wish they would get caught.

If you right click on the link, its's usually a hotmail or yahoo address. Beware!

well both of them are deleted now. I figured something wasnt right. The thing that stumps me is how they used Ebay's email address, coz even anything slightly different would have gone into the junk folder.

I just received one of these today, very clean looking too.
The from address is aw-confirmation@ebay and subject is "ebay pre-suspension"
Here is the e-mail without the link so no-one accidently clicks it. BTW the link is the exact same as for signing in. I reported it to e-bay spoof@ebay.com and they confirmed it was fraudulent. Beware!!! and thanks to those who posted earlier as I remember seeing something about his and checked back here.
