Dual Solenoids

Could someone please describe the wiring and vacuum line plumbing for the dual solenoid setup? Is it basically a parallel setup with the wires tapped into to go to the 2nd solenoid and the vacuum hose teed into?

Maybe the stock ports on the sol. can't bleed off the high boost quick enough?

TurboDaves setup looks very impressive...
 
We use 2 solenoids with our BSTC Boost Commands. It extends the boost range on the controller to higher levels.
 
Yes it is a parallel setup for the wiring and boost hoses.

Range on the BSTC controller goes from 6 psi. to about 11psi. with two solenoids on my car.

Anyway, you're right. A single solenoid can only bleed "so much" air away from the actuator, and as such has a dynamic boost range of about 6-7 lbs. depending on the car.
Adding another one in parallel increases that range to about 10lbs (no it doesn't double the range :) )

I'll take a look at the "T" I used and post it. You have to be careful about what "T" to use, otherwise you won't be adding enough bleed area.
 
Thanks for the help. I can't access turbodave pic's here at work( my work has a block on some sites like e-bay and porn, and my home computer is down, 9-day turnaround from HP. What do you have turbodave, some private pics on there? ;) so i'll have to go by the written word.

No private pictures at all. Just albums for my GN, Excursion, dogs, and our new house.


Here's the info on the plastic "T" I mentioned earlier.
It's plastic, and the single leg is larger than the cross legs, as mentioned earlier.
The tab on top says: 3/16 x 1/4M
 
What if I just "T" it with a "regular" T after the factory Y instead of finding the "special" T. Shouldn't matter, right?

A regular "T" (all legs the same size) may not yield the best results. It will give you more boost range than a single, yes. But, maybe not as much as you'd like.....
 
I use a "T" with all the same size legs. Don't remember the exact sizing but it's same size as the hose. I get from 15 psi on low to 25 psi on high with dual solenoids. One solenoid I get 20 psi on high. This is with a regular boost actuator and not a high boost unit. On my GN I run a single solenoid with a high boost actuator and get 18 psi low and 25 psi high.
