I was wondering if the TE-66-1 that Precision sells has a 4 inch or 3 inch inlet. And does the TE-45a have a 3 inch or 4 inch inlet. Also, if i am correct, both of them are 66mm compressor wheels, and have the big housing, essentially the same turbo???? Thanks guys.

It is a four inch inlet. The "-1" means 4in inlet. Dont know anything about the John Craig 45a though.....

I just installed Precision's T64E which has a 3" inlet and a 66 mm compressor wheel. It's been on the car for 2 weeks and I absolutely love it.

I think the PRECISION'S TE64 and JC 45-a are just about the same turbo. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Actually the "-1" means that the turbo has the larger compressor housing (i.e. larger inlet and larger outlet). Without the "-1" housing, the largest compressor wheel is generally 64mm. The larger housing will allow (mathematically) up to a 82mm wheel (if one were ever produced).

2.75 inches X 24.5 mm/in = 67.4mm less tolerances ~64mm
3.50 inches X 24.5 mm/in = 85.8mm less tolerances ~82mm

Note that Harry's PT-88 turboes use a unique housing...big stuff!

Hope that helps!
