Diff between 85 and 87 trans

they are both the same right??? what about the connector on the side of it..is that the same for both tranny's.. i have an 85 trans but the wiring harness im getting built is for an 87... im a little confused..

Wiring/plug is for TCC solenoid. Same for 84-87.

Both are good trannies, 84/85 BQ and 86/87 BRF. From what I have heard both are superior to other 200r4s offered in NA vehicles. The BRF has a redesigned VB and different servo setup than the BQ and is considered better because of this. Many have had great success with the BQ also. Add a shift kit and possibly servo upgrade and should do just as well.
