I HAVE AN 87 GN, ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR ARMSTRONG XP PUMP AND "237" REGULATOR. CAR RUNS FINE AT IDLE AND CRUISING. AS YOU OPEN THE THROTTLE AND BOOST GETS TO AROUND 12 PSI, THE CAR WILL START TO SURGE AND THEN JUST SHUT OFF! TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO RE-START, A FEW TIMES IT WOULD NOT RE-START UNTIL I UNPUGGED THE ORANGE "ECM" WIRE BEHIND THE BATTERY AND RECONNECTED A FEW MINUTES LATER. WHERE DO I START??? CAR IS A 36,000 MILE ORIGINAL AND JUST STARTED DOING THIS OUT OF THE BLUE.

First thing that comes to mind is the fuel pump relay. It takes a minute or 2 to reset before it "fires" again,, sometimes.

Could be a short on the main wiring harness to the starter,,, or a short on the fuel injector leaders on the intake manifold.... or a loose ground on back of the head..... or the plug on the oil pressure sender is loose...

Might listen for the fuel pump to come on for a few seconds when you try to start it....
