I have had quite a few 2004rs apart but its been a while so if anyone can help. I have a friend who got a trans that was "rebuilt" and "upgraded", ever since he had it when ever going into drive or any forward gears it was a long delay before it actually went. After it was in gear it was fine untill it went to reverse or neutral or park. Now he has a built engine in front of it and he has to rev the motor to about 1800-2000 rpm before it goes into gear, however reverse is fine. Stuck valve???
