Cruise control surge???

When the cruise control is engaged the speed will surge up and down with apx 2 second intervals. This will happen at any speed and only with the cruise engaged. Would a possible vacuum leak cause this to surge? It maintains the set speed but is obviously not operating properly. Any input on this matter would be appreciated before I tear into it, thanks!

I run the MaxEffort setup and I know when I get the cruise fuel to LEAN it surges....

You might have a leak somewhere letting in unmetered air.

I might have a pin hole in my polished aluminum MAF pipe where it was rubbing on the alt. bracket. I will check it out! thanks Zam!! Could unmetered air be considered in the vacuum lines?

yep...anywhere air comes in is a leak...will cause a lean condition
