Driving to work today the GN started shifting weird.
Here’s what happened: I was driving normal (no boost or hard acceleration). The GN shifted out of 1st into 2nd good and solid, but when in second it felt like the torque converter locked up, thus causing low RPM load and minor boost to occur. Within a very sort period of time (like a second) she would shift into 3rd the torque converter would unlock and quickly shift into 4th with torque converter lock up. After about two stop light of this I stabbed it and it down shifted perfectly. Between shifts there was no noticed slippage. It’s the original unopened 200 with 113K. I bought the car about 5 years ago from the original owner a couple houses down the street. I know for sure the car was never beat, but what gives? Solenoid…. Torque converter….. Worse….. It’s never failed on me before… well may be when I go home tonight. Thanks.
