COOLING PROBLEM

^^^^^^^^^^
What he said. I run this radiator and my temps are 165-173. Saw temps go up in the low 190's after 4 hot laps in NC, temps back to normal after 30 seconds in the pits.

Stock fan here  , sealed to radiator with insulating foam, this will help the fan pull the air through the radiator. No oil cooler on my car, external trans cooler.

Alradco rad is one of the best. Ran it using the internal oil and trans cooler and a front mount on my daily GN. No issues, temps always in the 160's even in SoCal heat.

+1 on the Alradco. My temps always ran around 220 in the summer here in NC , especially sitting in traffic with AC on. I tried a brass 3 row, dual fans, 160 deg. tstat, sealed the radiator around the sides etc. Nothing changed except for thethickness of my wallet.

I put in an Alradco 2 years ago and haven't seen temps over 175 since. Aluminum conducts heat much faster than Brass. I also didnt want to get rid of the oil and trans coolers as reliability is important to me and the car hasn't let me down in 26 years except for the old stock MAF.

faster
Copper – 401
Aluminum – 273
Brass – 109 (not 159)
Stainless Steel – 16
slower

I live here in NC as well...I have put a 160 T-stat...TURBO TWEAK chip so that the fan comes on at 162...this look like it may be my answer as well I would like to keep oil and trans coolers in place...just put new oil cooler lines on...don't want to waste that money..did u just purchase the radiator alone..if so type of dual fans do you have...thanks:cool:

did you use the dual fan setup or another fan setup of your choice and what kind(dual/single)?..thanks:confused:

I got the radiator directly from Alradco. All the other mods were made prior to geting that radiator. The only thing that worked was the new radiator. I haven't tried it with the stock fan just the duals.

I got the Fans from Advance due to the lifetime warranty. I think they'e from a dodge ram but I'm not sure. There's a thread on dual fans here somewhere. I had to take the bottom fan support offand put it on the top, There were also some plastic ears on the side of the fans that I cut off so it would fit tight aganst the radiator. I got the dual fan relay setup from Caspers. I have an Extender Chip that comes on at 175 deg. and goes off at 170. It has a race mode that turns the fan on at 165 deg. and oes off at 150. I don't use the race mode.

Where in NC? I'm in Raleigh.

COOL..thanks for the info that's very helpful..I'm in Reidsville...I will check on fans at advance to see which will be more cost efficient..

Guys, thanks for the recommendations and feedback. It's greatly appreciated. I'm glad our radiators and dual fans work well for you.

New F-body radiator with dual SPAL fans on my GN. Temps stay between 170 and 180 degrees even on a 90+ degree day.

I live in Houston where temps in the hundreds is a daily occurance and i run alradco aluminum with their dual extreme fans and i never get above 165 without ac on and 175 with ac on even sitting in Houston traffic for hours. I have a bored and stroked new motor with front mount intercooler. On another note, I think those of you not running any oil coolers are asking for trouble. I run the largest oil and tranny coolers that jegs sells. The turbo cooks oil. Just my opinion.
