COMCAST Cable/internet/phone SUCKS-@$$

Anyone else experience absolutely 3rd world class service from this circus act?
For 7 years I had Telemedia, a smalltime cable provider for downtown residential area as then Comcast wasn't even available. So last January Comcast comes to our rescue and bumps Telemedia out. To my memory in 7 years at the same residents the cable may have went out 2 times at the most, even in bad weather it ran like a Buick. Before Comcast "high speed" internet it was Bellsouth DSL, had some expected glitches from time to time, but worked. At&t phone, was kinda crappy and scratchy at times, but it worked.
In the last 3 weeks, the phone, internet and cable have went on and off, even with 5 or 6 times reporting it and one service call. Besides the 5hitty service, when the cable does work, the remote itself is crap. You press the power off button and the cable only goes Off, leaving the TV On. Press the power again and the tv goes Off, but the cable box come On. A mentally challenged monkey engineered this piece of crap. They also forget to mail the bill, so when you get it, it's your fault that you didn't pay it on time. I can't remember having ever had worse service from any outfit... Air travel industry, Food service, Hotel service industry, automotive of all kinds from small vendors to General freakin Motors, but COMCAST is by far the biggest piece of crap company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I'd rather have 30 channels that worked back, in replace of the 300+ that hardly do.
Junk!

That sucks ive had all 3 for a year now and had almost no problems and yes the remote took a wile to figure out that does suck on the system i just leave the box on hit the tv button the i hit the power button hope you get it worked out with them. I was initially going to switch to verizon for all 3 but after 4 missed app. to install direct tv i was like f this and went with comcast

Have had them for 12 years, I make sure they log any complaints into my file. I probably have 60+ complaints. My big problem is getting the service guys to show up. They refuse to show up when I'm available. I tell them I get home at 6:30pm and not to show up before then, but the window is 5pm to 8pm. Just my way of getting back at them, because they have to come out 6-7 times for one service call because they refuse to show up after 6:30 even though the manager assures me! I start throwing out there that I've spent over $20,000 with them, they'd better jump.

With the remote, you have to hit the "all on" button and keep them pointed at the tv and box. It turns them off one at a time, not at the same time. If you watch the lights, you can see it cycle through "cable, TV, Aux". Other than the customer service which is terrible, I love the Dual DVR HD box. I have cable (with a package that doesn't exist anymore, kinda grandfathered into it, that if I remove movie stations it ends up costing me more) and HS internet. That $175 a month adds up quickly.

I went with Vonage, no setup fee and something like $7 less a month. Comcast wanted to charge me $100 for a service call to set up the phone.

Comcast has monopolized the building I live in. Or at least the building management seems to have been implying at residents meetings that the only phone service we have access to is Comcast. Maybe they mean cable only. I wish they would allow choices in the cable service offered. I would rather have the backwater Telemedia provider back. It wasn't digital, only 30 channels no SPEED channel which is really what I'm wanting. I just asked a co-worker about her comcast system. She said that the remote does that to her husband, but not to her...whatever. I'm hearing more than a few saying that the remote is less than desirable. Learning the newest Mac operating system is easier than getting the freaking remote button to work! What really sucks is that I'm wanting to watch Pass Time on Speed Channel after work. As soon as I get into it, the damn thing will go black.

Comcast sounds just as bad as my Time Warner service. Internet goes down all the time, I call customer service, then go through 5 different automated menus that have terrible voice recognition software.

Automated Voice: "Which of our digital services are you having problems with? Digital cable, internet or digital phone?"
ME: Internet...
Automated Voice: "I'm sorry, I didn't get that. Could you please repeat which service you're having problems with?"
ME: INTERNET!!!

I can't say it any more clear and that's only the first menu. I have to do it two more times for the next couple sets of messages.

The Hi Def cable box's need replaced every couple months. Instead of dealing with them on the phone, the second it starts acting up, I unplug it and take it to a box swap location to get a new one.

$170 a month for the worst service ever.

I got fed up with Comcast, switched to WOW.(WideOpenWest). Couldnt be happier. Had them now for @5 years, service never went out yet, and its @$75 for cable, internet, and phone service. Only downside is, its in limited areas. Check WOW homepage to see if its in your area. They were based out of Ohio if Im not mistaken

I have them and they suck here in Arkansas as well. Not only does what they offer suck, but their service sucks. Getting someone to come out makes you want to bite down on a fingetnail file.

The people that work there suks as well. It was abd for me from the start. The install guy was so bad, they fired him in my driveway after his boss came out to see what a messed up job he did. My two year old could have done a more quality job than him.

Anyway, yes, Comcast phone, cable and high speed(yea right)internet sucks monkey balls.

What i've learned over the years with HD cable is that unless you have good cable, good connectors/connections and good splitters, you'll have problems. The splitters are the biggest problem, they can cut your bandwidth down bigtime if not the proper type.

I have about 6 tvs set up, so it gets to be a spiderweb.

The next time you call them to complain, ask to speak to their retention dept. First words out of your mouth, "Retention dept please." Complain to them that unless these service interruptions stop you will be canceling your service. You need an experienced comcast tech (NOT a worthless contractor, no offense to anyone that happens to drive a buick and is a comcast contractor :) ) to come out and resolve this immediately as sh*tty service technically means that you may not be required to pay any sort of disconnect fees... I would say complain about the price too, but since you have all 3 you are already only paying 100 a month, right? ive had them for over 5 years in 3 different houses/apts and most of the time it works fine, but there have been crappy patches. Usually the most common thing to happen to me is the internet will take a nap and I have to restart the cable modem, which also effects the phone since its over the net as well.

I may try that, my last bill was $140, but now I have phone too, Hell, I'm not sure if I've been under charged or over charged. The billing has been so wacked out I couldn't tell you for sure what the bill should accurately read.

100 my but my last bill was 182 dollars i have all the move channels no porn but all the other stuff so if mine does go crazy i will be calling and giving them some crap

I was referring to the "triple-play", all three for $99. That's what I have. They said it was only for new customers then when I threatened to cancel they gave it to me for that price...

I've got a service call scheduled for 10:00 - 12:00 on Saturday. Oh goody, just what I was hoping for, I get to get up early on my day off (yes indeed, that's early as hell on a Saturday for me) so I can wait around for the cable dude to show up. I feel for those guys too, cause they have to get the 5hit end of the stick dealing with PO'd customers. A lot of those guys are new and I don't blame the problems on them, the crap equipment is out of their hand IMO. That's the damn thing about it, you can't blame the installation guy, the person on the phone, all you can do is get the reaming, grin and smile...the crap needs to smack someone in the jowls!

I used to have Comcast Internet/Phone/Cable All-In-One Package over the cable line.

Total garbage.

I lost my dial tone numerous times, for 24 to 48 hours. The TV signal would show those digital squares almost daily every hour. Internet was fine for the most part, but there were constant intermittent interruptions of service.

I say again, total garbage. Told them to go to hell and overhauled my setup.

I now have Verizon phone service, you know, the actual phone lines that have been around for a century and never let you down. The ones that work even if your power goes out and can still call 911 if you have to. Yeah, that service. It cost $20.00 a month. I also use Verizon for my DSL Internet, works great and much more secure than cable. That cost $20.00 a month. They both come on the same bill.

I use Direct TV satellite, excellent service, excellent package, many more channels for less money than Comcast, beautiful picture, zero interruptions. The only time I have trouble is in a very heavy rain or snow, where the picture goes out for 1 or 2 minutes, and that only happens 1 or 2 times per year. Cost $50 per month.

**** Comcast.

That sounds like what I need. I can't get satellite in my building. I'm moving to house soon though, and I'm dumping comcast.

Next time check here before digging yourself into a contract with a provider.

My DSL connection has been down a total of three minutes over seven and a half years. Yes I run a check every minute:)

My phone lines were total crap (bellsouth). At least every other day there was a BS guy working on the box to the neighborhood. I had static about 50% of the time for the last 10 years. I'm happy to get rid of the old fashion phone service.
