Manual 400 trannies don't use a front band,this will not work if you want to keep the front band.'

This snap ring in a 400 has a tendancy to flex here as there is no support for it and in time can break the rest of the lugs out of the case ruining it.
This item supports the snap ring and keep the ring from lifting

Otto we have one with a threaded cap that allows use of the band as well.
