Here's an update to the original thread. I installed the Bison built 6262dbb and it promptly ate itself in under two miles. Of course it sent aluminum through out the motor. Turbo is back in Bison's hands and John and I pulled his motor to clean it out. The intercooler was full of oil/metal shake.

Disassembled the entire engine( was built by Richard Clark 2 years ago) got ahold of SloGN(Pat) and we were invited to come down to check it all over and have some fun. I have been to RC's before but never to work. WOW what an experience. RC checked everything and explained and answered all of my questions. Pat also offered his insight.

It was a very long day but we got it all done. All new bearings fitted and all cleaned up. Now I still have to assemble it all one more time.

Here's some pics. Starting with carnage.

Yes, it was a very eventful and knowledgeable day.

Thank you for everyones hospitality up in Burlington to us "out of towners".

Hope to be back soon to help out and pick heavy things up and put them down. ;)

Hi Mikey:) it's on this weekend. Gonna put all that knowledge from last weekend to work. Motor will be ready. Still waiting on the turbo though. John may just leave here with a stocker:)

Looks like $250 worth of Cometics--how thick?
.051 yes they are expensive. Funny thing is GM uses similar gaskets to these on current engines. The 3.5's and 3.9's leak oil/coolant like the Cometics. Factory hasn't figured out how to stop it:)

Must be nice having resources like RC's shop at your disposal! Very cool.

It is unbelievable to have RC and Pat (SloGN) so close and willing to provide their expertise. The entire TR community is very fortunate to have people like them involved, helping to make sure we keep these cars on the road. Their love of these black (and all the rest of the colors) bricks is evident from the moment you meet them. So much so, that they were still going strong with Phone Guy when we loaded up to drive home @11:00 PM.

That said, Steve has been the real hero in this deal. His willingness to do whatever necessary to get the car back to 100% has been amazing. Pictures don't come close to telling the story as to the quality of his work.

Regards,
John

So yesterday's the warm air put light coats of surface rust on a few items so I polished with some scotch bright to get the parts ready. Parts had wd-40 ..next time Atf.

Painted the block and started assembling. ..here are some pics.
