Cash for clunkers WE4 car traded in...Sad day!

WOW 42,000 miles bone stock WE4. What was that owner thinking?

I'm sure they could have gotten alot more than the $3500 or $4500 the dealer gave them for it,weird.

Are you kidding me?:mad:Thanks Obama, pretty soon I see Federalis invading my garage and seizing my cars as "enemies against the state" and now become property of US Government and socialist Obama regime will crush them into coke cans! Thanks for destroying history, job well done!:rolleyes:A$$&ole!

This is good. The owner was too stupid to realize the car was worth a lot more than $4500 and fvcked themself out of it. You should send a link to the dope if you can find their contact info and link a couple recent ebay auctions for cars with similar mileage. They deserve the lose the extra $5000 they could have got by selling it privately. Dealer was to stupid to take it on trade also. Lol.

Heres a picture. 42k miles! :mad:All original!

Barf....people need to be punched. I just think how many disabled vets barely making it, driving a crap car because that all is he can afford and they are crushing perfectly good cars. Brilliant, just brilliant.

I dunno . How much more would he have gotten for it? Low mileage but it looks pretty rough. He probably figured it was easier just to get the $4500 toward his new car rather than spends weeks, maybe months trying to sell it for only a little bit more.

On the flip side it's sad to see a piece of history like that go. I personally would have held onto it but that's just me. I love these cars.

This cash for clunkers thing is a little weird anyway. I know it's voluntary but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth for some reason.

Is this the same car buickbert posted about in the SW section?
If only it was traided in at my dealer....I dont care what the law is I couldnt blowup a perfectly good TR. I do everything possible to save it

I don't think all hope is lost on the Cheese for Whips program. I was going to get on my soap box and post a thread back when the program was in full swing but I didn't have the time to research some of the crap I was going to get off my chest. What's this all leading up to, you ask? Well about a month ago those damn C4C cars started showing up on the LQK U-Pull-It places. Yep that's right. Now every part was available except.......the motor for obvious reasons. Saw stuff in my local yard that I thought would be another 10 years before I'd see them in a self service yard. I tell you there are really some loser idiots in our society. I saw cars and trucks just months out of their pay offs assuming people bought them new and financed them with no money down for 60 months. Trailblazers with the desirable 4200 straight 6. European luxury cars, Caddy Northstars along with the usual ilk of SUVs and cheap imports. Here I thought you had to crush them but the manager told me all they had to do was destroy the motor. Everything else was salvage. If you saw a car with the motor spray painted Flouro Pink than anything was fair game except the engine. I'm thinking, especially in the case of the EuroTrash Luxo Barges, that if the people took better care of them they would have easily doubled the $4500 in a trade in. I mean some of these cars were really trashed to hell. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were broken before the C4C program started. Ever price a timing belt on an interference BMW or Benz lately? Now on the other hand maybe some were victims of a shady deal to begin with but I'm not going to go there and waste bandwidth with my conspiracy theories. Anyway we just need to find out where that TR is hiding to grab the good stuff off of.:D

You know some of us here aren't any better. I can think of a few threads that had "if I can't sell it than I'll part it out'. What's the difference? Just another TR wiped off the face of the Earth is all.

The car was traded at Jim Click ford in Tucson, I bet the car had 145k and probably needed an engine and tranny so the trade in might have been logical.

LOL at the Cheese for Whips ;)

Wouldn't a simple rebuild put the engine back in working order. It may be against the rules of the program but all it really trashes are the bearings

How does that even qualify? What's the mpg rating on turbo Buicks? I'm sure I could get mileage near the mid 20's on the highway if I wanted with mine (Although I've never bothered to keep track since it's just a toy to me)...

What the f**k are you talking about? Who's coming to take your cars?

Sorry Jay it was not meant to be taken literally. This is only a joke about Obama's regime and C4C was pretty extreme. Hopefully the government will not take our cars, but in time I could see this regime making a full court press to outlaw our cars from the streets.
