Camshaft sensor Question?

OK I was trying to start the car to come home from work and the car didnt want to start. Finally after like the sixth time it started but gave me a code 41 camsahft sensor malfaunction on the scanmaster. My question is do I have to replace just the sensor or both the sensor and the drive?

take the cap off first, 2 phillips screws and make sure the tab inside hasn't gotten loose. If its good I'd guess you need a new cap but also check the play in the lower portion while your in there, should only have about .020-.030 play up and down and pratically nill when trying to turn w/o going up and down any.
