Been awhile since I have been on the board, but trying to get settled in the new home and get back into the cars. I am getting a tranny built and the builder needs the correct valve body for a turbo Buick.

Does anyone know if a BQ valve body is the same as a BRF? If not, what are the differences? I found one local for cheap but just want to make sure.

The BQ valve body is from a a GN/TR trans , just from the hot air 84-85 cars. Here's the codes and corresponding vehicles:

KZF -- Olds 442/Hurst
CZF -- 85-88 Monte SS
CRF -- 85-88 LG4 305 powered Monte Carlos/Pontiac Grand Prix
BRF -- 86-87 GN/T-Type/Turbo Regals
BQ -- 84-85 GN/T-Type/Turbo Regals
BR -- 83 Model T-Types
TAF -- 89 Turbo Trans Am
OZ -- Hurst Olds
OM -- Olds 350 Diesels
OG -- lds 307
BY -- V-6 252 Cars
AA and AP -- Cadillac's

Monte SS,442,H/O had CZ,KZ & OZ code.

If I recall correctly the light to medium shift points on the BQ are slightly earlier but the WOT are the same.

I appreciate the information. I have a couple BRF trans sitting in the shed but could pick up this BQ valve body, case, etc for $50 so would rather do that since all the guys are going to be changed.
Just want to make sure the valve bodies are comparable
