Been reading but.. i dont understand.

Ok ok this may seem like a newbie question. However Im shopping for a new turbocharger to throw on the 84 GN, I dont want to stall it, and i dont want to fool with larger injectors right now. So I have narrowed down some decisons.

I Really want a TA49, but my question is, will it bolt right up? Or will i have to modify it?

Then I heard of the TE33. Is this basicaly the same turbo as the TA49? But intended for a hot air car?

Please fill me in, before I make a costly mistake!

From what I remember, any turbo you buy to put on the hot air will have to be modified to fit. The hot air turbo has the adapter cone in between it and the intake. The 87 style turbos do not. You can send a stock hot air turbo to some of the turbo manufacturers and they can machine it and make it a differnt turbo. But if you buy an off the shelf 87 turbo, it will not fit. Do a few searches like "hot air turbo" or "bigger turbo" and search the hot air section. A lot of info in there.
