My car developed a bad vacuum leak the rubber grommet that the PCV plugs into on intake cracked and it looks like the bottom half fell into the hole. Now what? do I have to pull the intake or can the the piece stay in there without causing problems.I tried fishing it out I even put a small hose on my shop vac.stuffed it down the hole it went in 8/10 inches but no luck. Any ideas

See if you can use a small mirror and see which style intake gasket/valley pan is on the car. If it is the gasket with the metal pan going across (under the intake) it should sit on top and don't think it can make its way down where it could do anything. Even if it is sitting in the valley, depending on how open the casting is on your block, it may just sit down there and never get in the way. I think the first time I took my hotair motor apart half of a PVC grommet was sitting in the valley, just hanging out.

Too bad you don't have access to a borescope where you could look down the hole and see where it is...
