Aluminum Radiator question

Does anyone know anything about the design of the oil and trans cooling tanks? Can they be flushed or is that a waste of time? I'm doing a engine rebuild and i've flushed the oil cooler with kerosene.I'm leaning towards plugging it and not use it. What do you guys think?

Plug it and go for an external cooler. Earls makes a very nice cooler but it is pricey.

Definitely plug it. It will be next to impossible to get it cleaned out. Not worth ruining a new motor. It will run cooler too.
