Need to buy a Alternator mine has failed do we have a vendor that sells something with higher AMPS then stock 120AMP also how do you test your Alternator the car runs with the postive cable on but once removed it turns off.

OMG!!! Don't remove the cable while the car is running unless you want to spike the puter. I've replaced more puters because people still believe this is the way to check an alternator. If you're lucky it didn't do any damage. Take it off and bench test it at the parts store or get someone to test it on the car.

very simple.........

put a volt meter on batt terminals (+ & -) without car running, should read 12.6 or close to it, start car, voltage should read more than before, normally 13.5 or so, as long as voltage increases, alt is working.
if voltage does not increase, alt is inop.
