A few questions about headliner install

I am putting a headliner in a '79 from a '87. Are these the same? I noticed the '87's have the seatbelt bolts through the plastic, and the '79 don't. I looked up buying new and they list 78-87.

Also, I got the car with no headliner in it, and I am wondering what to do with the dome light. It appears to have soldered wires and won't fit through the hole in the headliner. Will it fit on an angle, or should I cut the wire, put it through and use a solderless connector on it?

TIA, Glen

It's easier to cut the wires, and duct tape them to the roof in the mounting area. That way they won't get lost in the wrestling match of liner install. Solderless butt connectors are fine.
