The biggest is how they get the GN/Regal header panel to fit to the sedan front end , and make it look like it's supposed to be there.

I like the sedan look of the 4-door , only in the wagon , but I prefer the look of the Regal Grand National front end sheet metal (i.e. doghouse) but the lower body lines don't match , and one has to add to the front of the sedan doors to fill in the curved opening , of the 2 door Regal fenders. kinda like in the picture below. What are your thoughts the Regal front end or the sedan with the work to put the Regal Header panel on.

Thanks guys

I don't know who owns them but they are cool....I'll take the black one!
My brother wanted to put a G/N front end on a mid 80's el camino a few years ago and asked me if it would work.
I told him it would bolt on but I wasn't sure how the fenders would match up to the doors and body lines.

You would have to use the 2dr fenders on the 4dr to make the header panel work I think.

I wish. Those pictures were taken at an all Buick car show in Wallingford, CT.

the wagons are cool- wagons are always cool- but that GNX Camino just looks dumb.
maybe if it didn't have the quarter windows...

someone should weld the back part of the roof of a wagon onto an ElCamino and put a Regal front clip on it to make a 2 door GN wagon..

I thought it was Jack Cotton's son are something like that who did it.
Then there are these.

That El Bueeckmo is just plain nasty fuggly.

But then again, to each his own.

Not as ugly as the convertible - IMHO
It just looks to be missing something - oh yeah - a roof! :D

I toyed with the idea of a GrandWagon though.
Had a deal on a Buick Wagon a while back.
Didn't pull the trigger (to my head)
Wagons are useful.
But that's a bridge too far for me right now.
Used Excursion it is. ;)

I remember a gn convertible in the ATL back in 1988 or 9. How could they do that to that car? My original 87 gn was a t-top, and I thought the convertible idea was cool, until I saw it! Now I like the wagon, but I'm probably to lazy to make that ever happen:cool: But if the black one ever came up for sale...

Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder! That wagon is bad azz, love the Grand Camino, but the convertible takes the cake for me! Saw this car in the Buick Olds Pontiac magazine when I was 18 and drooled over it for years, never in million did I think I'd own it! Hard to beat cruising with top down and pushing the go pedal and smiling from ear to ear! I'm sure the guys with the wagons and Camino's can attest to that feeling! Better yet getting the confusing look from guys who know GM never made em! Guess I just like things out of the ordinary! Lol.

What kind of frame flex do you encounter under heavy acceleration? (Like the look BTW!)

Not a lot of frame flex, the car is actually an 82 carbureted turbo car that a dealer had sent to Florida, one of the conversion companies down there. The frame is beefed up pretty heavy and braces throughout. A guy in Texas built the car from 3 dead GN's in the early 90's. No mods, all stock, but still gets up and goes! Thanks for the comment!

I think that is really cool. Leave the top down though. Mostly all convertibles look pretty lame with the top up. Must turn a lot of heads with that thing.
