I picked this up last year originally as a parts car but I just couldn't bring myself to cut it up. It needed a lot of work( the floors were rusted out) and a laundry list of repairs. It still has the original paint(it's getting a little thin though). Here's a before and a couple after shots. Oh an 82 Turismo 2.2-It's for sale if you're interested!

I like the conversion. Do you have any pics of the engine mount? What are you using for electronics. I want to do this to a Reliant.

Hope this helps a little. As you can see, the steering rack sits right under the oil pan. I'm currently redoing it because it needs more volume. I tried the Camaro oil pan(rwd) in these pics but I'm using a front wheel drive 3800 oil pan this time and notching it for the rack instead of just a rear sump. I will connect the front and rear sump with a transfer tube so the oil that returns to the pan in front will transfer to the rear where the pickup tube is in. I'm using the stock pcm from the 96 Park ave. Ultra I got the engine from. It's been reflashed to delete the necessary functions. I used the wiring harness from the car also and sent it to Howell EFI. For about 400 bucks(give or take) They'll take any GM harness and cut it down to the necessary stuff and add the relays, label everything, and give you the leads for hooking up the pump, and everything else. The best 400 I ever spent. I did the EFI conversion myself on my 78 Lesabre Turbo Coupe with the setup from an 85 GN, I'll never sit there and pull my hair out again for that price.

Yes, I had a local race shop bend me a pice of 1 5/8" dom tubing telling them the distance between the engine mounts and the distance from the mounts to the bottom of the pan.

Here's a couple more. Working on the different oil pan, see how it's notched for the rack to run underneath. A cover over the rear where the spare tire tub used to be. I put a hinge on it so I can remove the diff from the top, you can't remove it from the bottom unless you drop the suspension. I put a couple braces on the rear suspension.

supercrackerbox

HEY!! what's been goin on:cool: The C/S is still down the street. Unless something stupid cheap comes along it will be sitting in my yard when the buick gets finished. I told the wife if I'm gonna get stuck with a hand-me-down FWD car, it's gonna be something I like and be cool. Might take a while to get finished but will be a hell of a lot cheaper than doing the buick, that's for sure. I will keep you updated.

AWESOME PROJECT BTW:biggrin:

usetaboost, how about the turismo? Check out what I'm making for that! Since I haven't had much interest on it for sale I thought I'd try setting up a supercharger for it. A friend of mine will have the elbow/carb adapter welded up hopefully this week.

It is a good lookin car, but I am looking for something factory turbo'ed or a well done conversion. White really doesn't do it for me on a lot of cars either, except for gbodies for some reason

How about my 78 Lesabre Turbo Coupe?

Oh, ok. Did I mention to you an 88 Daytona C/S for 500? 2nd gear is out. Pretty nice condition otherwise, red- grey int. Is that something your looking for? 5 speed.

I went to Mopars In The Park this past weekend. Pretty good show. I decided to buy a pistol grip shifter to put in the car. I always liked them so I had to just man up and pay the 150 bucks for a shifter handle. Of course some of the cars and stuff for sale had some outrageous prices. A 68 383 Dart GTS 4spd car, no drivetrain and it was a car with a few parts left on it(and a rust bucket) he was asking 8,500. Apparently some of these guys haven't figured out with the economy that the prices have already peaked. I know they're not gonna give it away but for the kind of car it was- half that price would be more in line. On the other hand, a gorgeous 71 440-6PK, 4spd GTX for $59,000 if I had the money I definitely would.

It's up and running! I also got the Pistol Grip shifter installed. We finally got the VATS turned off in the pcm. It took Todd at Track Time here in the Twin Cities a few tries and another update of his software to finally get it to take the reflash.
