87 GNX Head Rest removal

[L78-Kidd]

What’s the trick for removing the head rest’s from my GNX. They seem to go up
about 3 inches and then stop. I must be missing something hear; I don’t see a
button or latch anywhere on the seat.

On my T, I used a hacksaw blade to release it.

1 1/2" putty knife will work also.

Pull up until you feel it catch, slip in a flexible piece of steel that will fit, depress them both at the same time and pull, whalla.

I went to my local upholstery shop and he removed them for me.
