I have a 1997 3.8(3800) zero miles motor, thinking of selling is there any reason to keep any parts (lower end) heads for future 87 rebuild ,hopefully I won't need to.

You can sell it. Nothing is interchangeable between the 3800 and 3.8, except perhaps the flex plate and pistons, rods and crankshaft. The 3800 block is different, the heads are different, the intake and exhaust manifolds are different, the timing cover and oil pump are different. I know for a fact that the oil filter and oil cap are interchangeable, Perhaps the spark plugs.

The only internal interchangable part is the rod bearings.
