16" tire question. Please help.

I'm kind of going through a delima right now. I need 4 new tires and I'm not sure what to get. Since I just went to 16" wheels I've noticed my tire choice is very limited. Nothing wider than a 255. I'm looking for a 245/50/16 up front, preferably Z rated. And a 255/50/16 out back. I'm pretty much set on the Nittos for the back since my girlfriend will drive the car occasionally, wastegate will only go down to 14psi, and I don't want her getting hurt. What brand of tire is good for the front that is in the $150 or less range? What charicteristics do the Nittos have? Big burnout like BFGs? I've heard over and over they're better in the rain than the BFGs. What about rolling say 45mph and flooring it. My old BFG DRs would break free. Are the Nittos any better cold from a roll without the shock of a dead stop? Who has the best deals on performance tires? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance.
