Thanks Rob, i will do that. I have gotten a pretty good offer from CK, but shipping and customs will add another 800-900$ on top! Crazy! I'll let you know what Henri says. Did he build a tranny for you? Is he good? Thanks a lot! Olli

"HK" is a fake german plate of the US Forces, isn't it? Nice car! But still Buicks are extremely seldom! I see way more Ferraris and Lamborghinis than Buicks in Munich! I still would say it's one of the rarest Brands. I wish there were more like yours! Are you stationed over here? Olli

Please help me understand this stall speed discussion

Not sure, it's in full trim, i need to drive to a truck scale some day. It is. It has a GM847ish cam, see specs in the link of the original post. I've been looking at the Lunati Voodoo 60122 for a while and you are absolutely correct, i should match the converter to the combo i'm planning on...

Please help me understand this stall speed discussion

Thank you very much for your long explanations, uh, Nasty. :D That helps me understand a lot. Especially interesting for me was the explanation of how lock up is influencing the slippage. I don't want to go the WOT Lockup route, that's for sure. Maybe for your further suggestions I should say...

Please help me understand this stall speed discussion

I'm in contact with one of the respected site sponsors regarding a new 2004R and lock up converter for me. I have problems understanding his point and i wanted to ask here for explanation, because i don't think he has the time to chit chat this out via email, i am in Germany, thats why i don't...

I agree for most people on here, but what if you are located overseas and there is NOBODY who knows how to build a 2004R properly? Not much choice then. I am in that position.

    Can't ID this 2004R

I already know this is none of the preferred 2004Rs, but still i'd like to know what i have here. I cannot find the ID in the ID help pages i found. Also the number below the big letters obviously has a different format than the ones i saw on the ID Help pages? Can anybody decode this one for...

Rebuilding a TH2004R. Is it possible....?

Being located in Germany i'm exactly in the same situation like you. I managed to find a working and stock condition 2004R and at forst i was thinking to get the rebuild kits and few hard parts from CK to save shipping cost and taxes. But as i have never done it before I chickened out and now...
