I plan on racing two classes this race season. so, i'd like to be able to cool the trans when hot lapping, 1/4 mile. i have a 18x18" external trans cooler upfront. that i will put a 16" fan on. i seem to remember something about full flow and lock-up???? Cheers!

current 4800 and 5200. i did not weigh them, been trimming and testing. i understand the light weight is for WOT shifts and the large is for part throttle. maybe i'll trim the larger weight and see if that raises the WOT points.

OK i needed to re-read your post. i misunderstood, i thought it said you removed "the weights". did your governor look like mine when you reached 6800?

EA is that a Lonnie trans? Level 3. did he suggest removing the weights? i would like to understand the difference between VB's. i thought they were cast the same but with different slides and springs.

I think i will simply column shift it and set the light at 5800. I'll work the cockscomb for a better, more positive detent.

if i remember correctly it was 4000 and 4400. i thought doing all the mods in the master kit, that the VB would be the same as say a GN.

yup, deep pan, filter and over filled...

i built it with a master kit from CK. i dont recall what i set it up at, what ever the book said. when i used to have a gage on it, pressures were good and no flair at 2-3

2004r 2-3 shift- takes a spit second at WOT 2-3 is firmer at half throttle than WOT. fresh rebuild, deep pan, filled plus 1qt. TV max at WOT. i did drill additional fluid exhaust holes in the drum 1-2 is nice and positive at all times. 2-3 is nice and snappy, except at WOT Cheers!

i found the problem, my mistake. one of the mods i did was blocking off the support bolts. only one needs to be done. remove bearing=4th gear this pic was from the assembly, i keep a video camera rolling and take snap shots along the way when i put trannys together.

I have CK book but still looking for some help. i recently rebuilt the trans with a CK master kit. afterwards it does not make the 3/4 shift. i put a gauge on the 4th gear tap and i see appx 25lbs in 1,2,3,4th light exceleration driving on the freeway at about 50-60 i do not see a pressure jump...

I just left Autozone- they let me go in the back and look thru the filters. the 200-4r has the longest neck on it and it hugs the VB. well i guess its time to customize it.. not what i want to do but i'm stumped.

I thought the correct filter was from a 700, but it's too short. I asked Hughes, they said it does not take an extention. 700 LEFT----200 Right Cheers! I shop at Autozone
