2004r 2-3 shift- takes a spit second at WOT

2-3 is firmer at half throttle than WOT.

fresh rebuild, deep pan, filled plus 1qt. TV max at WOT.
i did drill additional fluid exhaust holes in the drum

1-2 is nice and positive at all times.
2-3 is nice and snappy, except at WOT

How tight did you set up the direct clutches? Are you dual feeding? What is your pressure in third gear? Red or tan clutches? Shift kit?

i built it with a master kit from CK. i dont recall what i set it up at, what ever the book said.
when i used to have a gage on it, pressures were good and no flair at 2-3

Are you using a bottom feed filter, a deep pan or something that gets the fluid into the pump no matter the acceleration?

yup, deep pan, filter and over filled...

Well. You might look into the ck 3-2 mod. You didn't say if you are dual feeding. Are you using a brf valve body?
