New to carb turbo, ton of ?'s, what did I buy

That port is normally an open end back to the pan, not back to the pressure system. The only pressure is the line size, and I suspect that the volume is too low for a turbo. This is a 1/8-27 NPT thread, yes? JMO - return it to the pan using a much bigger line, don't use the original return port...

New to carb turbo, ton of ?'s, what did I buy

The old 261? AFAICT, the slant engine pictured, as he said, isn't his but an example. The 261 is a Chevrolet truck and Canadian Pontiac L6 OHV made 1954-63, 3.75" × 3.9375", a descendant of the 235" "stovebolt" motor. This is a very low speed engine with only 3 × 1-1/2" siamese intake ports...

    Aluminum heads?

I'm working on adapting the Buick head to another application entirely, but having trouble sorting out the field. Is there a list or source for any aluminum heads for the Buick and semi-related engines (3800, etc.), original + aftermarket? Thanks.

    Homemade Ethanol?

Just a note: much otherwise accurate information about ethanol refer to the denaturing agent as a poison (such as gasoline). This is not necessarily true, although many approved agents are toxic. The purpose of the denaturing agent is as an emetic to prevent human consumption, by inducing...

    ckperformance 2004r overhaul manual

In the event that anyone with manners is curious: I don't edit other people's text, not even for money, I'm not a secretary. My time is spent trying to finish 3 books of my own now; here's one - notice the warning that "it's not available yet, DON'T SEND ANY MONEY"...

    ckperformance 2004r overhaul manual

"Brian, I don't think Panic has even bought a manual.... He just wants a free copy posted... And the opportunity to make $, editing it." What an obnoxious moron. I edited a copy OF WHAT HE POSTED HERE to show him how to do it, and distributed it TO HIM and anmyone who asked FOR FREE...

    ckperformance 2004r overhaul manual

Well, that certainly taught me a lesson! No, I won't be doing any more favors. And thanks for posting it like you promised! Perhaps this is silly of me, but I'm going to base my decision about who to use for my transmission work on your behavior here. I'd rather not wait a year and listen...

    ckperformance 2004r overhaul manual

Since I got no reply to the e-mails I sent, I have re-formatted the pages of the manual posted here for clarity, changed borders, margins, etc. as a test. It took 10 minutes. Want a copy? E-mail me.

    ckperformance 2004r overhaul manual

I write automotive and bike tech material for limited sale, typically run off 100-200 copies per revision. I compose it in MS Word 2000, print the master myself, then just give it to the local printer. This one: http://www.victorylibrary.com/L-BK.htm is 65 pages, black and white only, cost...

Billet vs. forged That link (http://victorylibrary.com/mopar/billet-c.htm) is on my site, but I only editted it - the credit goes to Bob Powers, a great Oldsmobile enthusiast. Here's his own site: http://www.robertpowersmotorsports.com/Technical_Info.html

    High oil pressure when cold?

We've all seen/done/read about this problem - cold start oil press goes off the gauge (100 psi), only 60 warm. Needless to say, 100 does bad things to the drive gear and cam bearings. Thinking about what to do. Bill Jenkins solved this for Chevy 25 years ago - the max press relief port isn't...

Gas loses octane in plastic containers?

Not knowledge, but I keep reading that many plastics never "gas out", and continue to release fractions for many years into the contents. Can't be good.

    10-15 psi launches

Somewhat O/T, but (without personal experience) is there any data on using alternate methods of getting the exhaust system pre-heated and spooling up the turbine without loading the brakes? Like a chip retard to TDC for staging? Plenty of exhaust temp, turbine wheel spinning merrily, but no...

If Alchy is corrosive to aluminum then why doesn’t it corrode the up pipe, throttle b

IMHO it takes several hours of immersion for any corrosion to take place, this is why forgetting to drain your alky system on your race car the next day doesn't always cost you $1000. Just don't leave it there all week. I've also heard that anything in the meth (including water) reduces the...

Alcohol corrosion, and what to do?

Methanol supposedly attacks lead, aluminum, Nitrile, brass, copper, zinc, Viton, rubber and magnesium (not to same extent). Any other "sensitive" materials common to auto installations I should know about? For storage: 1% acetone for water separation, anything else? Any other anti-corrosion...

    shurflo pump

It appears that only the privileged few are permitted to offer comments. This makes any pretence at problem solving rather beside the point, and renders all these verbose exchanges futile.

    shurflo pump

Has anyone tried referencing the ShurFlo relief valve to boost pressure (instead of atmo), so the delivery pressure will always be relative, rather than be "rated P - boost P = actual P"?
