Question about inflating and deflating the spare tire

Had to use my GTA's spare once, and yeah, the canister is pretty useless. Hoofed it to a gas station, filled the spare and hoofed back. Not a fun day, and the replacement tire cost 150-plus. On a somewhat related note, the spare in my TTA doesn't fit over the front brake caliper... No clue...

    Odometer repair?

Well, I had to pull the needle off to swap the face - so I'm basically all I need to see is if the needle is on the gauge correctly. And, looking at the two PCB's, one of the IC chips is different and a few resistors are of different values - probably becasue one was a 120 and the other as a...

    Odometer repair?

Ah, a most excellent idea. Just one more reason to hook it up...!

    Odometer repair?

Eh, the worm gear stripped out the drive gear in the cluster. Swapped the faceplate and the electronics board but I kept the donor gauge and odometer gearing - and the mileage - so I should find out shortly if I really do sixty when it says sixty. The wife is going to follow me and report how I...

    Odometer repair?

Okay, before I crack open my dashboard and rip the cluster out - my speedometer works, but the odometers do not. Probable causes could be the odometer motor or geartrain, correct? Anybody ever had to deal with this? I have a donor gauge cluster from a 1989 Firebird, and the mileage is...

    reeled in a fish

I'd like a '87 Fiero GT as a daily, but the wife would kill me. Slap a turbo onto the 2.8, and kiss my tires goodbye.

    350z

It's pleasant when younger people recognize older cars as being nice. I kept having people ask if my TTA had a V8 in it.

50lb injectors and Joe Lubrant/PTE street chip

Hey, Derek! You ever get that stupid transmission problem fixed? I might be getting an '87 T soon - trading the TTA for it, should be a good deal for both of us... In other news, I'm banking working for Lockheed martin - shoot me a PM! -Ian

    89 Tta Roller

Well, I must not be doing badly if I want to trade my still-running high-mileage (108K) TTA for a T-Type that's asking for $8,500... Still, $5,800 to get in the door isn't a bad price - considering there's less (far less I bet) then 1,500 left alive, not a bad price at all.

    TTA for T-Type trade

My TTA was owned by a model, Judy, in Honolulu. Nice asian lady, married to a pilot or something. She was somewhat of a Firebird fanatic, but they were stepping out of the F-body arena for good with the sale of the TTA, as far a I know. She had came really close to buying one of the 2002...

    TTA for T-Type trade

Saw an ad in the paper for a 56K '87 T-type, ad said it was pretty much mint and he only asked for 8500. Well, my TTA is still inactive, needs brakes, body work and a lot of other sundry items, so I called him up and inquired if he would like to trade...? He used to own a TTA way back when...

    Hardtop value??

Oooh, a 3.4 Grand Prix GTP? I wanted one of those in a bad way when I was younger... Take pictures of that too, can you? That would've been a hot motor to shove onto a RWD car where a proper transmission could handle all the output that thing could make!

You might own a Turbo Trans Am if...

I had this thought as a sense of humour, sort of "if you can't laugh at yourself then you shouldn't be driving it" sort of thing. -You consider changing a head gasket as a rite of passage for ownership. -You've ever considered sealing your t-tops shut to keep the water out. That or actually...

    60-120 times

Stock acceleration times in third gear from 60 to 120, anyone? Saw a modded car do it in ten seconds or so, pretty cool how we don't have to downshift and grab geras and rev the crud out of our engines in order to begin accelerating darn quick... Not bad for an eighteen-year-old car with a...

    60-120 run in a TTA

Saw a clip on Youtube of a third-gear acceleration run from 60 to 120 in a TTA. Scanmaster showed a bit of knock retard, a few degrees. Around ten seconds to do it. Yipee. I'll have to find it, but if anyone knows, who's car and what mods? Anyone else do third-gear 60-120 puls? What...

    Leaky Rear Main Seal

Since my car has no plates, it pretty much sits. I notice that if it sits for awhile without running, I get smoke off of the crossover pipe. Looking at it, I have oil slowly dripping out of the rear main seal onto the pipe where it burns off and smells like Hell. If I let the car run for a...

Two-gauge pod and boost/vac gauge arrived yesterday. Waiting for the knock gauge to ship, then I'll think about installing them.

Think I need to own an auto repair biz!!!

Great - that's what I have to look forward to when I do my brakes...? Lovely. I guess I'll be finding out how sucky I am at doing brakes pretty soon.

    Parts!

Yeah, I figured it won't seal very well, I was only mocking it up to see if it would fit. And that it worked, which it did. The MAF connections for the adapters are TIGHT, though, I had to use a bit of oil to assist them onto the MAF - I can't even rotate them now. The rest flat-out sucks and...
