Severely oiled spark plugs..what's the cause?

Well, I decided to just pull the heads to see what's up, never did a compression test. Unfortunately, all I did was pull the doghouse and have busy since then. I'll post what I find out when I get there.

Pulling heads in car, min. needed to come off?

I'm pulling my heads while leaving the motor in the car--I realize it's easier to do if you pull motor but I have no cherry picker, stand, or room--anyway...what needs to come off to get the heads off. Mainly, do I need to take off the accessories ie alternator and A/C? If I undo the headers...

Well, with the orange wire unhooked and going in between the neg. battery cable and the neg. post and the Fan Delay Relay off, I'm only getting 8-9 milliampers. When I hook up the orange wire the milliampers go up by 2, reading 10-11mA. I'd say that's a very low draw, yes? Can somebody...

I tried again with what you just said and the hood light WILL NOT come on if I have the meter set up for V. I tried all my connections every way I could and tried all ranges in volts and NO LIGHT and no draw. The reading I get is 12.5V, the exact same reading I get when I just check the volts...

OK...I hooked it up your way with the multimeter, orange wire unplugged, and it is reading 12.45v. I tried to hook up my light under hood( I keep it unplugged until I need it) and it would not light up and no volt change. When I tried to turn on the dome light switch on the dash(didn't light)...

please help w/voltmeter use, picture included

I unplugged the orange ECM wire behind battery so as not to blow anything since I'm not the worlds smartest electrician. So, with the negative battery cable off, I tapped between the post and cable to measure mA and it was fluctuating between approximately 11 and 13 mA, back and forth, back and...

I tried this and I got a reading of 0.00, no movement at all. Shouldn't there be at least a little? If I set dial on 2A A DC and red lead to A BAT fused(next to COM on the meter and then touching pos. battery post and unhooked pos. battery cable I get a reading of 1. That's it, not 1.00 just...

Isn't there a way to just check to see if there is a drain on the battery before I go pulling all kinds of fuses? The white mark is correct on my meter, I just took a picture of it before I even started doing anything and that's where it was for no reason.

I'm looking for whatever way will help me see if I have anything draining my battery. I've read people using mA and people using volts. Somebody please just tell me what I need to do. I know you have unhook the pos. cable and tap between the cable and the battery, which I did and my reading...

ok....I had the red lead plugged into to Max 2A Fused and the dial set to 2A on the A DC and then tapped between the positive battery cable and the positive battery stud and it read .33 and after 5 seconds it went to .01 What is this telling me? Sorry, I'm electrically challenged.

Blown...thank you very much for your help. Here's what I found after tapping between the pos. cable and battery: -using the 20mA DC, or 200mA or 2mA = 1 -using the 20 v DC = 12.30 steady, it's the same number I come up with when testing the pos. and neg. of the battery itself

Thanks!! Do I keep it on that same setting when I go between the positive cable and battery post, so I can start to check where the drainage is coming from or do I switch to A DC to look at amps?

please help w/voltmeter use, picture included

My battery is discharging rapidly and I need to use the voltmeter to determine where it's coming from. Problem is, I don't have a clue as to how to use the darn thing. Could somebody look at my picture and tell me what setting to have it on. Thanks!

Severely oiled spark plugs..what's the cause?

OK...I pulled the doghouse to take a peak inside the intake manifold. The whole inside of the intake is black already because I had it teflon coated for improved air flow, along with the doghouse. Upon swiping my finger on the inside of the intake it left a light black mark, not wet more...

Severely oiled spark plugs..what's the cause?

I pulled a plug after idling and checking fuel pressure and it was wet and even a small run around the bottom of the plug threads, because I was holding the plug upward. Did NOT smell any gas, just smelled like oil and I even tried to light it to make sure it wasn't gas and no ignite.

Severely oiled spark plugs..what's the cause?

ok...I've moved and am now revisiting this problem. As stated, it's ALL 6 plugs that are very oiled and black. This happens as fast as just starting the car and letting it idle for a couple of minutes with new plugs they'll be nice and wet. I will do a compression check, I have to buy or...

    2,650 RPM Idle!!!

I don't know if the several of you that are having the same problem ever got that fixed, but mine was doing the same things(not running unless I give it gas), and I bought a new IAC and reset everything and POOF, fixed. I scanned everything, called everybody, had posts, and finally said screw...
