    code 31?????

    my code 31 was caused by blown fuse as mentioned above,, VERY HELPFUL WSLN,,,, my manual lockup switch would NOT work, CEL came on around 40, shutting car off & restarting shut off light until @ 40.... replaced fuse so far fine.

    Also, located in the egr solenoid is a little filter that can become clogged over time, like 15 years, and make the egr valve lazy to close when going to WOT, sometimes. :rolleyes:

    I'd say 37psi of fuel pressure, line off, is a little low,,, I'd like, at least, 37psi line on. My car likes about 40-41 psi, line on. That might be why you're getting knock. It's best to adjust fuel psi for WOT, the rest of the time, the ECM controls fueling. Also, the window on the cam...

    removing balancer bolt.....

    Please, just use a small chain from one of the - balancer - pulley - bolts to the frame somewhere(for the back-up),, and a 4' piece of pipe and a breaker bar...... Don't use the flex-plate trick, or breaker bar on the frame trick. :rolleyes:

    Fix elect. window?

    I agree with the bad button theory,,, i just went through this on my Limited a few weeks ago. The passenger side barely worked, and the drivers side was pretty slow. After 2 new door panel switches, both windows zip up and down like they're,,,, turbocharged. :D

    Low BLMs at idle and cruise

    a blm of 105 isn't bad at idle, or cruise, the computer just thinks the chip is calling for too much fuel, and the computer is adjusting using blms. Now, why does the computer think it's rich? You should probably put the fuel psi back to where it was. tune fuel psi only at WOT.

    I would go woth the 10" lockup convertor, about 3000 3100 stall. Oh, and a bigger throttle body, etc.

    Keep busting timing chain tensioners

    Welp, fwiw, i use a Speed Pro or sealed power set, I got through a local parts store,, anyway, it doesn't require a tensioner as the chain is "tight" on both sides. It's a stock style heavy duty chain and has worked fine for several years... I'm not a big fan of roller chains for turbo regals...

    Paid for timing chain replacement- lower oil pressures after repairs- need opinions

    I'd have to say that a stock , unopened motor, making 15-20psi hot oil pressure is pretty high. Sounds like you're running 20w50 oil.. "They" may have refilled with 10w30, which would explain the situation... 900-1400 hot idle, untouched pump, is about right...

    The Eaton, or Auburn, is a better posi, traction wise, than the factory unit. 7.5 or 8.5.

    Starting Problems

    Sounds fuel related. Have you tried flow testing the pump,,, unhooking at Carb, and letting it flow into a bottle or can or something? Could be a kinked fuel line over the rear axle,, maybe..... Might blow out the fuel line, backwards. Could be some junk in the carb too.

    :) ModFather :rolleyes: First, it's normal to max out the Dash boost lights,, the factory gauge is a little generous... although be sure the wastegate vac hoses are good, and well attached... Second,MAF tube could be causing you problems,, it'll cause it to be lean,,, 'cause of air...

    also, a pre-turbo exhaust/header leak can make it hess,. You need a way to check O2s, to see if the Sensor is active at idle.

    Excellent on the 86 GN... It doesn't take a whole lot to get into the 12s, that is, be quicker than most cars on the road.:rolleyes: ;) What's done to the car now? First for me was Dual exhaust/Cat back. That helped alot. K&N, 3 cat or 3" Testpipe, 3" downpipe. Gotta Posi? Fuel...
