Speedo drive and driven gear question...

For what it's worth, I gave PATC a call and alot of the gears are out of stock or no longer available. They ended up recommending a 12/29 combo.

Speedo drive and driven gear question...

Thanks for the reply but I couldn't find that combo on TCI's site. Also the link above is to PATC site and it show the 27 tooth along with the 11 drive gear is no longer available. Maybe I should just call them and see. I didn't know if anyone else out there was running the same gear and tire...

Speedo drive and driven gear question...

Recently got some new wheels and tires for the ride and noticed the speedo is waaay off. Speedo shows about 20 mph slower than actual speed. So I've been looking for replacement gears for both the drive and driven gears. Going to replace the drive gear since I'm planning on flushing the...

    Terry Houston wastegate stuck

I had the same issue last year, but mine was an ATR pipe. Had problems with it over boosting or not getting enough boost. I ended up getting the puck assembly from RJC and used a drill press to get the old puck off. Then I slid the new sleeve in the pipe and welded. Then inserted the puck and...

    wastegate puck stuck...again!!

If I were to cut off the weld from arm to shaft and do whatever. Will there be enough room left to weld the arm back to the shaft and allow enough room for the shaft to float?

    wastegate puck stuck...again!!

I did not hammer the sleeve into the pipe during the install, I simply pressed it in with my fingers and gently tapped it into place with a rubber mallet before the weld. Also when I said 'tap' the puck with my fingers to move it, I meant that with the pipe still on the car, the position it was...

    Knock/lean condition

Are your MAF readings good at WOT? I was chasing a lean condition for a long time and decided to check my MAF readings on the sm one day and it would only show 140-150 at 16# of boost. The car ran fine just could not get into it in 3rd. The MAF seemed fine for everyday driving, I swapped it...

    wastegate puck stuck...again!!

Thats the problem, I replaced the whole assembly, sleeve, rod, handle and all. It didn't fix the issue. I'll give them a call and see what happens. This sux, I was hoping it would be all good as searching past posts that this was the solution for a binding puck. I did notice on the old pipe...

    wastegate puck stuck...again!!

I'm not gonna spend another $70 to get the same puck I just got from them. It didn't even fix the problem.

    wastegate puck stuck...again!!

I had purchased a used stainless steel 3" DP a while back from a local turbo buick shop here in town. The previous owner upgraded to a 3.5" with his new exhaust and wanted to get rid of the 3" so I picked it up for a pretty good deal. He said it was an ATR pipe, I can't tell the difference...

Question for those with vacuum brakes...

Well thanks everyone for your comments and opinions. Look like theres much debate on whether to go vac or hydro. Either one is better than the my current powermaster, wasn't trying to get peeps to bash on each others setup. After all, its your ride and your entitled to do whatever you want to...

Question for those with vacuum brakes...

Well after researching and pricing both options out, looks like I'm leaning towards the vacuum set. The hydroboost setup with all new parts is going to set me back a little over 320 while the vacuum setup is at 260 not that big of a deal to some but I could use that extra cash to get new...

Question for those with vacuum brakes...

I just followed this thread and decided to price all parts you had listed. I guess inflation hit because the hydrobooster is now 231.99 compared to 159.99 and the master cylinder is 30.99 compared to 18.99. That was at Autozone, I haven't priced at others yet. I'm gonna search around some...

Question for those with vacuum brakes...

Dang...I wanted to spend my extra money making my car go faster...not making it slow down. Looks like its back to the drawing board and more research on what's better for me. I plan on keeping this car for really long time so I want to invest what I can for the long term.

Question for those with vacuum brakes...

I had plan on doing the vacuum setup just because it was a straight forward swap like cruzn57 said. I basically had my mind made up, just didn't know which booster to use. But now all this hydroboost got me thinkin twice... It'll be parked all winter so I guess I can do a little more research...
